David is a young canoe slalom athlete competing for Great Britain in the K1 class. With impressive on-water ability to go with natural athleticism, David has already won the junior British Open and competed on the European and World stages. We love how he combines his sport with study, and are sure he has a bright future ahead.
David is a young canoe slalom athlete who has taken part in the sport since around 2010. He first got into the sport following his older brother into the water, and identifies white water kayaker, Peter Kauzer, as being his role model.
David is currently attending Nottingham University, where he studies Pharmacy and is on a sport scholarship. David’s dedication was rewarded with selection as one of the athletes to represent Team GB at the ICF Junior Canoe Slalom World Championships in Bratislava in 2017.
David went on to win the junior British Open at the Lee Valley Olympic course in London, qualifying for the U23 canoe slalom European Championships in Slovakia where he finished 15th.
David trains six days a week in Nottingham and with access to the Lee Valley Olympic course. He is currently ranked 7th in the UK in the K1 class, competing for GB U23 with the goal of being selected for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
